9:00AM-1:00PM Extensive Scoring Overview (Coaches and Judges)

  • – What’s New with the IASF Rules
  • – Brief review of the IASF Guidelines
  • – Trying to understand the new grid and how it will be implemented
  • – BCA Cheer Scoring
  • – Adjusted BCA Cheer Scoring Grid
  • – The BCA has amended their scoring system to stay current with the industry.  There will be a thorough overview of the updated system as well as time for question and answer.
  • – BCA Scoring in comparison to Varsity All Star Scoring
    • – A thorough review of the updated BCA Scoring System
    • – A philosophical discussion as to the differences between BCA Scoring and Varsity Scoring and why BCA is stil not adopting Varsity Scoring
  • – Point Deduction System
  • – Overview of updated BCA deductions.
  • – Routine Creation Levels (1-5) As time permits.
  • – Interactive planning in small groups.  Teams will be formed to create the ideal routine opportunities, which will be compared to the scoring gridand analyzed by course attendees.

 

2:00PM-6:00PM Practical Judging and Review (Focus on Judges but Coaches also welcome)

Judges will have a physical interaction with the BCA Electronic Scoring System

  • – Review of tracking sheets
  • – Judge etiquette
  • – Scoring from Description
  • – Participants will score routines based on itemized lists of skills
  • – Scoring from Video
  • – Participants will score routines based on video of routines level 1 to 5
  • – Comparison to actual scores given at the event by current judges
  • – Review of comments that are effective
