Cheer Active is a brand new joint venture between the BCA and Goldsmith Mancuso Limited which provides First Aid courses that have been specifically tailored for Cheerleading. We offer two types of courses, Intermediate and Advanced:

Intermediate Award in Cheerleading First Aid

Our Intermediate Award in Cheerleading First Aid gives you valuable knowledge of what to do in an emergency at practice, competitions... in fact anywhere! Our courses are focused on the cheerleading world and cover the most common injuries seen within cheerleading.

The Intermediate course covers the following:

  • The role of the BCA first aider
  • Assessing a casualty
  • Dealing with an incident
  • Resuscitation
  • Bleeds
  • Common medical conditions
  • Epi-Pen training
  • Gaining Help
  • Documentation & Infection Control
  • Sports injuries
  • Cheerleading Injuries
  • Spinal Injuries
  • Injury prevention

On completion of this course you will be awarded with a Intemediate Certificate in First Aid which is valid for 3 years.

Ages: 14+ (Those under 16 will require an adult to accompany them)

Advanced Award in Cheerleading First Aid

Our Advanced Award in Cheerleading First Aid builds up on the knowledge that is learnt on the intermediate course but will talk about injury prevention, effective sports strapping and treatments. This course also incorporates an Emergency First Aid at Work (QCF) Award which can be used in the workplace as well. This course, like the intermediate, is a completely unique course tailored to cheerleading.

Although not a requirement, we recommend you take the intemediate course before attending the advanced.
