EQUAL SKILLS PERFORMANCE

Level Play Divisions
What is Equal Skill Performance (ESP)?
Equal Skill Performance System is a division levelling system that allows all teams to compete within their own skill level. Based on the criteria outlined in the guidelines, teams pick which division best suits their abilities.
Similar systems are now in widespread use across America. BCA was the first to introduce such a system in Europe.
This system promotes a level ‘playing field’ with more competitive divisions. Due to the extensive division breakdown, the ESP system also allows organisations with multiple teams to compete at one National Championship without having to compete against others within their own organisation.
BCA strictly adheres to the National Federation of State High School Associations' 2005/06 Safety Guidelines. These rules apply in addition to division guidelines noted here.
