BCA DUAL PANEL JUDGING

What is Dual Panel Judging, and how does it work?

'Dual Panel' judging is a system that allows almost non stop action on the floor, using two separate panels of judges.

  • The first team from division 1 take the floor, and are judged by Panel 'A'.
  • As they exit, the first team from division 2 enter, and are judged bt Panel 'B'.
  • When they finish the next team from division 1 enter, to be judged by Panel 'A'.
  • Teams compete in succession, all division 1 are judged by Panel 'A', all division 2 by Panel 'B'.

Thus every team in any division are scored by the same judging panel, without lengthy gaps between routines.   Another advantage is that each panel of judges gets more time to score and add helpful comments to scoreforms.

An analogy would be two stacks of aircraft queing to land on a single runway, with air traffic control bringing them in alternately from the bottom of each stack.

From a spectators viewpoint the competition runs smoothly and without gaps.
